Make this free felt bunny rabbit card just in time for Easter with my free printable template. This cute bunny rabbit design is perfect for Easter and Spring designs and is sized to fit neatly across the front of handmade cards.
I've made a super quick no-sew version of the card but, if you have more time, why not sew this bunny to a felt or cotton backing before placing on your card front.
What You Need to Make These Felt Bunny Cards
Acrylic or wool felt - I used 2 shades of pink
Some patterned fabric
A temporary fabric marking tool
Blank greeting card - I used 5 x 7 inch
Fabric and felt glue such as Aleene's Tacky Glue
Scissors for felt, fabric and paper
Optional accessories: button, ribbon bows

Note: You can use any small Spring and Easter themed motifs for this quick card making project.

I picked out a Spring shade of yellow for my blank greeting card. I used a 5 x 7 inch sized design which is a standard size that works especially well with my free bunny design.
You may prefer to stitch the bunny rabbit motif onto some cotton fabric backing or some felt before sticking it to a card front. This no-sew method is ideal for last minute cards that also look great when in a hurry.
Cut a piece of patterned fabric which is smaller than the card front but larger than the bunny motif. Glue around the edges about an inch in with a paper and fabric glue such as Aleene's tacky glue and stick the fabric down.

When sticking patterned fabrics onto handmade cards, I love to fray around the edges. Be aware that with some fabrics, this technique is not possible or may not work well.
Once the glue is dry, you can take a pin or a sharp point and pick at the corners to loosen the raw threads of the fabric. Once loose, you can pull a thread along an edge to start fraying it.
Keep pulling threads until you are happy with the look or until you cannot go any further because the fabric is stuck to the card.

Use the free pattern or your own pattern to cut out the bunny rabbit and glue it over the fabric on the card front as shown. I used pink felt in two different shades with a lighter pink for the tail and one ear.
I am using my free Easter bunny pattern. Visit my Sellfy store and download your free pattern HERE today. You just need an email address that the pattern can be delivered to.
Print off the bunny design and trace around it with a temporary fabric marker such as a water soluble fabric pen. See how to transfer patterns for cutting out here.

I added on a large ribbon bow around the neck of the felt bunny and found a glitter button for the eye detail.
You could even add on a yarn pom pom for the tail although be aware that this may make it hard to pop this in an envelope and also affect costs if you are mailing or posting the finished card.

I used my Sizzix Big Shot to cut out a sentiment for the card in a color to match the bunny rabbit and added a sequin.
You could pick an Easter sentiment or stamp some wording appropriate for Spring.

If you have more time or you don't love the idea of using glue to put your card together, you can sew your design instead.
This quick sew card used the tulip flower applique motif from my Spring Candle Mat pattern because this is also an ideal size for handmade cards.
I used blanket stitch applique and backstitch to sew the flower onto a felt backing which was glued onto the card front when done. This one made a sweet thank you card.

Why not make the card along with the matching Easter bunny bag design for a beautifully coordinating Easter or Spring themed gift.
I love presenting gifts that match because they look so special. Have fun making some quick and easy designs.
